Gerda Ecker

Gerda was born on May 7, 1921 in Germany and passed away peacefully, at the age of 95, on May 12, 2016. After leaving a troubled Germany, Gerda resided in London from the age of 16. She migrated to the United States and lived in St. Louis, Missouri before joining her son in Denver in 1985. She is survived by her son Jerry Baruch of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Gerda loved children and served as a Nanny throughout her life. Her friendships crossed all generations and she made friends easily and cherished them, as they did her, for life. She was fiercely independent and traveled the world. She began these many adventures alone, but returned from them with new friends. She was a wonderful cook, loved music, and travel. Gerda did not value collecting possessions, rather she valued the many people in her life. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched. Per her request there will be no services. Gerda will remain in the memories and hearts of her son and her friends. Please share your condolences either here or by sending your memories to Jerry.
