Jacob Hallberg

Jacob Benjamin Hallberg earned his angel wings on Father's Day Sunday June 19th, 2016. Jacob was surrounded by his family at the time. Jacob lived with a mitochondrial disease all his life. Jacob spent a lot of time at Children's Hospital Colorado, and we are forever grateful for the care and love Jacob's medical team gave him. Children's Hospital became our second home. Jacob's disease didn't define him. Jacob was a happy, loved boy. He stole so many people's hearts. He showed us all what it means to fight, and what it means to truly love life. Jacob loved going to school, and being surrounded by children. Swimming in the neighborhood pool was always a highlight. He didn't like to stay in the house, and always asked people to take him places. Jacob often asked to play on his IPad and got very good at beating everyone in the game ""Bumper Cars"". He loved music, and having people read books to him. He got very good at crafting and doing art projects. Jacob loved hanging out with his family, and he loved his Minions! Jacob is survived by his parents Maria Hopfgarten and Joakim Hallberg and his sister Sarah Hallberg, maternal grandparent Nils Hopfgarten, paternal grandparent Sven Hallberg, and his aunts Jenny and Hanna Hopfgarten, and Lena Nilsson. Jacob was preceded in death by his grandmothers Marja Similä and Marianne Hallberg. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 25, 2016, 2:00pm, at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado. A Celebration of Jacob's life will follow his Memorial Service at Bal Swan Children's Center at 4:00 PM, 1145 East 13th Avenue, Broomfield, Colorado.
