Larry Dee Maske died peacefully with family at his side on November 2, 2015 at Lutheran Hospice in Wheat Ridge, CO at the age of 78. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Alferd and Esther (Ebke) Maske and survived by Celia, his loving wife of 55 years, their two sons, one daughter and their families including five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Andrew and wife Huajing (Xiu) Maske and their children, Angela and Angus of Lexington, KY; Leah (Maske) Price and husband, William Price of Flagler, CO; and Matthew Maske and wife, LeJeane (Crites) Maske and their children, Rachel, Connor and Whitney of Arvada. Also, his sister, Wanda (Maske) Henry her husband, Jim, along with many nieces and nephews. Larry was born on December 1, 1936 in Franklin County, NE and attended Franklin County schools, graduating from high school in 1955, attending college at Oklahoma State in Stillwater, OK before relocating to the Denver area where he and Celia met and chose to build their home and family for the remainder of their lives together. Larry was a faithful, long-time member and deacon of Arvada area churches - Truett Memorial Baptist Church, Arvada Central Baptist Church and Ward Road Baptist Church. During his life, Larry held a variety positions, as a purchasing agent for a lumber company, computer operator, hardware sales, truck driver and in civilian military service, also serving, in retirement, as a volunteer for the Wheat Ridge Police Department. Larry and Celia, purchased some property in South Park on which they built a cabin where they enjoyed spending their leisure time with family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. A reception to follow at the home of Celia Maske beginning at 11:30am. Brother Ralph Quisenberry will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Larry's life.
