Reba Reich

June 1, 1915 — July 4, 2015

A celebration of Reba's life will be held in the Denver area with her ""Western"" friends: Date: Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 Time: 1:00 P.M. Where: Southern Gables Church 4001 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Littleton, Colorado Family and her ""East Coast"" friends will gather at a later date in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as we inter her ashes with her dear husband, Louis. Obituary: ""An inspiration"" and ""a joy to be around"" are two phrases often mentioned by those whose paths she crossed. We lost our beloved Mom and Granny, on July 4th, 2015. We all feel blessed to have had her as part of our lives for so many great years. Through last summer and into the fall, she was still doing her daily walk, whether it was on the Eagle Creek Road by her summer home in Gardiner, Montana or on the Bear Valley greenbelt close to her Denver home the rest of the year. Bad weather? She did her laps around the living room! Being useful and staying busy were important to her. With heart problems slowing her down and making extra oxygen a part of her life starting in late fall of 2014, she'd get frustrated at not being able to do as much as she wanted or felt she needed to do. We convinced her we valued every day she would spend with us and she rallied to enjoy a wonderful 100th birthday with both a brunch and dinner on May 31st with wonderful friends. (Yes, she still enjoyed eating …even surprising us with a request for ice cream during her final 2 weeks. A daily cup of tea – hot, of course - and maybe a cookie or a chocolate to go with it remained part of her daily routine until her last week. ) In late June she spent several wonderful weeks enjoying the company of all three of her children (Chris, Al, and Peggy)and her daughter-in-law (Mary Lou) whom she loved as a daughter and one of her grandsons, his wife and two of her great grandchildren. Her two other grandsons and additional 4 great grandchildren were always on her mind and in her prayers. What a great life. She joins her beloved husband, our Pop, Lou, with whom she shared 38 wonderful years. She is the last of her generation and we miss her and her brothers, sister-in-laws and brother-in laws who went before her. Mom's faith was central to her life and the way she lived it. Her favorite Bible verses were: Psalm 121:1, 2 ""I lift up my eyes to the hills – Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, The Maker of Heaven and Earth."" Zephaniah 3:17 ""The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with his love. He will rejoice over you with singing."" Her family thanks you for all your kindnesses. We welcome any comments or memories you would like to share in the Guest Book on this website.
