Ruth Seybold

November 29, 1922 — December 2, 2016

Ruth Seybold, 94, passed away December 2, 2016. She was born in Red Mesa, Colorado to Myrtle and Vosco Burnham on November 29, 1922. Ruth was one of 7 children, with 3 sisters and 3 brothers. She had two children, Candy Snow and Casey Jones from a previous marriage, and married Louis Seybold on February 1, 1977. She has two granddaughters and two beloved great granddaughters. Ruth moved from Mancos, Colorado to attend beauty school in Denver and eventually moved to Arvada after marrying Louis. She worked for many years as an independent beautician and also at Sunny Acres retirement home. Ruth was a devout Latter-day Saint and was very dedicated to her faith. She was a master seamstress, who even hand-made Candy's wedding dress in 1972. She loved working in her garden, growing fruits, vegetables and beautiful flowers. Her family has fond memories of picking raspberries, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers from her extensive garden. Ruth also had a special talent for crochet, and created the most intricate designs on blankets and doilies. She was a dedicated Colorado Rockies fan, following them enthusiastically every season. Talking about the Rockies always brought a smile to her face. She enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars, despite being a bit disapproving of their attire. Her great grandchildren will always remember coming to visit her and getting a bag of jelly beans to take home with them. Ruth was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She never liked to say goodbye, so to all of you we are sure she would say, ""be good and be careful"". Ruth is survived by her loving husband Louis of Nebraska, her son Casey and daughter Candy (Jerry), both of Colorado, granddaughters Melissa and Briana (David) of Colorado, great granddaughters Ella and Noelle, and sister Gladys Salters of Cortez, CO. She is preceded in death by her sisters Ellen Paquin and Eileen Jones and brothers Billy Burnham, Ben Burnham and Owen Burnham.
