Charles (Chip) Box, loving husband and father, passed away on November 18, 2019 surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Chip grew up in Pueblo, Colorado, where he graduated as a valedictorian from Centennial High School in 1981 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. From there he landed his dream job at Martin Marietta and spent his entire career with the company as it eventually became Lockheed Martin Corporation. During his career at Lockheed, he earned a “New Technology Award” in 1989, a “Technical Innovation Award” in 2018, and earned a Patent for a Detachable High-Pressure Flow Path Coupler in 2006.

Chip had a passion for woodworking and created a collection of beautiful wooden bowls. He loved spending time with friends and family, eating great food, working on old cars, creating stunning stained-glass windows, watching football, and generally lighting up the room wherever he went.
Chip is survived by his wife Deb and their two sons Chase and Jensen, as well as his mother Beth, brother Rick and sister Dawn. He has been preceded in death by his father Dick, mother and father in law Peg and Bob Reed, and grandparents Charlie and Nettie Box and Clyde and Josephine Dawn.

We will celebrate Chip’s life on December 7, 2019 1:00 pm-5:00 pm with an open house at Chip and Deb’s house 8389 W Fairview Avenue, Littleton Colorado 80128.

  2. Chip’s co-worker and my husband, Robert “Bob” Krantz passed away in August 2018, so with my heart still grieving but feeling blessed beyond words that Bob was a part of my life for almost 44 years, I extend deep sympathy and heartfelt understanding to Chip’s loved ones. After Bob retired from Lockheed Martin in January 2001, he loved to catch up with his fellow co-workers, Chip being one of them, when he was in the Denver area and he spoke of Chip with the highest regard and respect.

  3. I really didn’t Chip personally but know him thru his mother-in-law. Peggy who I knew very well. Chip and was so happy to help the many times he came to Peggy’s aid and she didn’t live close.
Peggy was always bragging about Chip, Deb, Jenson and Chase. The many kindnesses Peggy was given by them. I am truly sorry about Chip passing and I know Peggy a
