Eileen Marie (Lawless) Heimerl passed away on February 3, 2020 in Northglenn, Colorado. Born on May 22, 1931 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Rose O’Brien Lawless and William Lawless. She was a lifelong Denver, Colorado area resident. She attended St. Mary’s Academy, and Loretto Heights, later working at the Sears Warehouse as a furniture detailer. Her work there enabled her to support her seven children, as a single mother. She was truly a remarkable woman. Eileen was a devoted Catholic, she prayed the Rosary regularly and was a member of the prayer chain. She felt called to open her already busy home to families in need. Eileen volunteered for many organizations, including: Mercy Hospital, National Jewish Hospital, the Denver Botanic Gardens, and at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. In retirement Eileen was able to travel the country, enjoyed reading and listening to books, watching old movies and musicals; she was an avid gardener, woodworker, seamstress, and crocheter.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, J. Timothy Lawless, William E. Lawless, Donald M. Lawless, and Gerald A. Lawless. She is survived by her children, Dorothy Jackson of Denver, Colorado, Patricia Heimerl of McMinnville, Oregon, Kathryn (Ray) Spicher of Castle Rock, Colorado, W. John (Tina) Heimerl of Aurora, Colorado, Susan Rivera of Denver, Colorado, Thomas (Tammy) Heimerl of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Lucille Heimerl of Aurora, Colorado; 22 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Horan & McConaty, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado. A Rosary will follow the visitation at 4:30 p.m. on the same day. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2626 East 7th Avenue Parkway, Denver, Colorado. Burial will follow the service at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
