Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Brother you will be greatly missed, you have been a true friend to us all. Your memory will forever live in our hearts, and we pray for you and your family. God bless you.

  2. You will truly be missed in a neighborhood of family. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. May God comfort all of you at this most difficult time.

  3. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of grief. I, like so many others who worked alongside Eric at Cherokee Station knew him as a brother, mentor, and friend. He was affectionately known as “Chef Schiff” for the delicious meals he would create especially for us when we were working nights. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always looked out for his union brothers and sisters. What I will remember most about him was how proud he was of his family; he spoke often of you and loved you all very much. He was a fine man and he will be greatly missed.

  4. Deapest sympathies and prayers for your family. I worked with Eric at Cherokee Station and enjoyed his company and the meals that Chef Schiff would cook up. He was fun to be around and had great stories to tell. Eric often spoke lovingly about his family. He will be missed by many.

  5. Kristi, my heart goes out to you and your entire family . I am so sorry for your loss . My prayers are with you . I’m always here for you if u want to talk .

  6. Our prayers and condolences are with you and the entire family.
Eric will be missed by many but will welcomed by many more.

  7. My condolences for you all.
Though it has been many years I have many fond and fun memories that include Eric.
No suprise I read here what a wonderful husband, father, and friend he has been.
Sending healing prayers for Family and friends during this difficult time.

  8. I am so sorry for your loss. Eric welcomed us into his family many years before my sister Jamie & Nate tied the knot. Him & Debbie treated my entire family with great kindness. I am so thankful for the entire Schiff family. He was a great cook and I was super bummed that I missed his Thanksgiving homemade treats this year. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Schiff family. Eric will live on in all of you!

  9. Dear Schiff Family
Our hearts our heavy today about yours, and our loss of Eric. Your family became a part of our family in years past when our families grew up together. We wish all members of the family our heartfelt sympathies and prayers.

  10. Eric was such a wonderful person! His sense of humor lit up the room. I remember when he graciously accepted a group of goofy Brownie Scouts into his kitchen and showed them how to make chicken ravioli and poached pears. He will be missed by so many. May God heal and comfort Debbie and her family.

  11. My thoughts and prayers are with each of Eric’s children and Debbie. I have fond members of each of them. My memories of Eric include a passion for cooking, his sense of humor, and his love for his family. A great man!

  12. Thinking of your family at this difficult time. You are in my prayers. Eric was such a dedicated father, loving husband, and generous friend. I loved his sense of humor and watching the way he interacted with Kenzie, the boys and Debbie.
Spending Halloween with Eric and Debbie was great fun! He loved to rub it in when the women took their turn trick- or- treating every other year with Kenzie and her cousins on the coldest of nights. He was a great sport when it was his turn, even if it was snowing.
He was never afraid of work outside the home or inside, alongside Debbie. They had an equal partnership and worked well together. He always pitched in! It seems like he was always cheerfully making home improvements. Busy, busy, busy, he had so much energy.
My son, Dustin still talks about the food that Eric catered at his graduation. I remember Eric cringed when he saw the way I was using my chef knives, and he gave up giving me advice when I asked him how to make appetizers. He bit his tongue as I prepared any food in front of him. Great memories! My family and I were very lucky to know him.

  13. We are just absolutely devastated upon hearing this. Please know that we are there in spirit. He is and always will be remembered in such a bright light. His laughter, his down to earth ability to make anyone comfortable, his beautiful spirit, the amazing husband, brother, father, son, friend he was. So many many memories in the 30+ years that he married my cousin Debbie. My heart is just broken along with all of yours. We know that there will never be any words that will help. Just know from us in Arizona, we LOVE you all so very very Much. Our arms are wrapped around you all.
    WITH so much Love,
    Don, Jenn and Ryland Phipps

  14. My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Eric. May your treasured memories bring you joy, and may ‘the God of all comfort’ give you strength and a measure of peace for your grieving hearts at this most difficult time.
    2Cor 1:3

  15. Our hearts are heavy with grief for this Schiff Family , the memories of Eric will always be a window that we can glance into & view all those wonderful fun filled years of him dating our niece Debbie to having each of those precious kids, Nathaniel, Zack, & our McKenzie & now the boys with their wives & little Dustin that make the heartbeat a little faster as his grandparents. So, we will be looking into the window often & glance at how precious our lives are & know that is what Eric would want from each of us to love each other & start each new day with a positive attitude toward life.

We will miss his beautiful attitude & that smiling face & wonderful silly personality & not to forget those wonderful meals he’d just whip up…the angels are getting one heck of guy.

    We love you Eric Schiff.
    Uncle Dutch & Aunt Karel

  16. Our hearts broke into a million pieces upon hearing this news. We will never forget our many adventures like going to the movies in the middle of a blizzard and using a lighter to melt the ice from the inside of the windshield or the many baking recipes we swapped. There are no words to express our grief or to provide comfort to his beloved wife Debbie and his kids and grandkids. Just know that we stand beside you and we love you. Eric, you are a true treasure and will be greatly missed on this earth. Until we meet again…

    With Love
    The Ewan Family
    Rick, Krissie, Seth and Bryce

May you find some comfort in your memories and keep him close in your heart, forever and always!
