Born in: Jakarta, Indonesia
Resided in: Denver, Colorado

Frederik Anton Willem Manoppo, age 54, died at Highline Rehabilitation and Care Community in Denver, Colorado, on Thursday, 03 January 2019, after fifteen (15) years of nursing home care.

Fred (known to his family as “Didi”) was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 11 August 1964 to Amirudin David Cornelis Manoppo (deceased) and Vera Henriette Tawas (Grander). He immigrated to the United States and became a US Citizen as a young adult.

Fred was at work as a Security Guard at Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, when he suffered a brain aneurysm in October 2003. His life was saved at Massachusetts General Hospital and he was later released to rehabilitation and nursing care. In 2005, he was transferred to care in Denver, Colorado, to be near family.

He was always good humored and smiling. He enjoyed music and classic movies. He would take part in nursing home activities and go out shopping or to movies with family in Denver. He never complained and was always happy to see visitors and his friends/deacons/caregivers.

Fred is survived by his mother (Vera Grander), stepfather (David Grander), brothers (Arthur HC Manoppo and Roeland A Manoppo), his half-brother (Farid Grander) and eight nieces and nephews. He still has a large extended family in Indonesia. He will be missed by all but is in a better place.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, 10 January 2019, at Horan & McConaty chapel, 1091 S Colorado Boulevard (at Mississippi Avenue), Denver, CO 80246. Burial will follow immediately at Olinger Hampden Cemetery, 8600 E Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231.
