Jo Beth Gerk, of Arvada, Colorado passed away on March 17, 2020 at home.

Jo was born in Tahoka, Texas on December 28, 1945 to Theodore and Velma Gass. She has two siblings, Leon Gass and Gwen Faulkner; four nephews;  2 brothers-in-law; 3 sisters-in-law; 7 nieces-in-law and 2 nephews-in-law.

She married Leonard Gerk on October 24, 1966 at the Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas. She enjoyed hiking and traveling, particularly road trips, and worked as a Checker at Safeway for many years. She loved dogs and they brought her great joy.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Gerk; daughter, Kimberly (and her husband Damon) Lona and granddaughters, Danae and Brooke Lona.

Jo Beth will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery in a private family ceremony.

  1. Jo Beth was my very best friend. We grew up together starting in our teens in Spokane, Wa. On behave our entire family she will always be loved and missed. Rest in peace Jo Beth.

  4. I have many memories of my Aunt Jo Beth but one that comes to mind is when she turned 30 years old she was so upset and thought she was, “Old”. We talked about that the last time I spoke to her and had a good laugh. She will be deeply missed. RIP my dear Aunt, Love you always!!

  5. I met Jo Beth about 20 years ago and what a wonderful person she was. I enjoyed talking and writing back and forth over the years. Jo Beth I can say you were truly a piece of Sunshine in our life and will will never forget how beautiful you were. Love you!!
