Sidney Briscoe, 80, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on October 5, 2019. Sidney was born to Felix and Beatrice Briscoe in Opalousas, Louisiana on June 3, 1939.

After high school Sidney served in the United States Marine Corps. He then had a long career with Public Service Utilities, from which he retired.

Sidney is survived by his wife, Helen Briscoe; children, Gayla Donatto (the late Percy Donatto) of Liberty, Texas, Cynthia Briscoe and Sylvia Brown, both of Aurora, Colorado; grandchildren, Steven Sutton (Brandi Sutton), Jacobie Randall, Skylar Brown, Le Daniel Briscoe (Karina Briscoe), Jacinta Brown, Mykel Brown Sr. (Maria Brown); siblings, Vivian Malveaux, Eunice Brown, Ann Bourda.

Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Beatrice Briscoe; siblings, Edith Petre, Genevie Jolivette, Junior Briscoe, Michael Briscoe, Merrick Briscoe, Jowell Briscoe Sr., Madell Richard, great grandson Jayden Briscoe.

A visitation will be held for Sidney on Monday, October 14, 2019, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at Horan & McConaty, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado; interment services will take place at 1:15 p.m. the same day at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado.

  4. Oh my! I had no idea that you had passed away. I’m sorry I didn’t get to spend more time with you, seeing as though I had my own health issues going on. I ran across some photos of Helen at my baby shower when I was pregnant with Taylor. I’m not too far from Ft. Logan, so the next time I go to visit my dad, I will be sure to visit you. You were the best godfather a person could ever want. I appreciate you, Sidney!
