Anthony Montgomery

Anthony Ian Montgomery, age 59, passed away on March 20, 2023. He served his country proudly in the United States Army 535th Engineer Company from 1983 to 1993 and was a Veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He was honored to have coordinated the peace talks that helped bring an end to The Gulf War conflict. After his military service he went on to hold various engineering jobs and most recently was a Senior Database Engineer and Operations Manager supporting electrical infrastructure and planning with CoreSite and was very distinguished, respected, and accomplished in his field.

Mr. Montgomery enjoyed spending time with family and his beloved dogs. He frequented and enjoyed many professional sports games ranging from golf to football, especially the Broncos and the Rockies. He enjoyed mindfulness practices, hot baths, working out, watching his son play sports, playing golf, traveling, and going out to nice meals with family and friends.

Tony was the loving father of four, including Anthony Michael Montgomery, Dominic Anthony Montgomery (Luciana), Rachel Nicole Gutierrez (Zach), and Jill Jasmine Montgomery (Matthew). He was also the proud Grandpo of six grandchildren Juliet, Gianna, Mateo, Isaac, Isabella, and Corryn. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Piedad Montgomery and is survived by his brothers Keith Montgomery and William (Billy) Montgomery. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, loved ones, and friends.

Funeral services will commence on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 9 a.m. at Saint Dominic Catholic Parish in North Denver where his mother was a frequent worshipper and where he attended some schooling in his very early years. The burial to follow will be held at 1:15 at Fort Logan National Cemetery where he will be laid to his final place of rest among his brothers and sisters of service to our Nation. If you are attending the graveside ceremony, please make sure to arrive to Staging Area C by 1:00pm. Please wait in your vehicles until we are brought to the shelter.

There will be a catered reception, provided by A Taste of Questa, following the burial for family and friends to celebrate the life and memories of Anthony (Tony) Montgomery.
