Betty Muir

June 11, 1936 — December 30, 2017

Betty was born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma. She graduated from Oklahoma State University and moved to New York City after college. She spent the last 52 years of her life living in Boulder and Westminster. Betty had a career in administrative support positions in the Boulder Valley School System and with the University of Colorado. She also volunteered with the Girl Scouts. She was married to Bob Muir for 57 years and raised three daughters; Carol Throm, Nancy Rose and Susan Muir. Betty enjoyed touring and traveling, especially in Colorado, and going out for lunch with family was one of her favorite things to do. She liked gardening, reading mysteries, crafting, shopping with her daughters, supporting her family, listening to Click and Clack, and visiting with friends. She loved to laugh and was known for her smile. She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Katie Crandall. She is survived by her husband, Bob Muir of Westminster, Colorado; daughters Carol Throm and her husband Dean of West Des Moines, Iowa, Nancy Rose and her husband Tim of Arvada, Colorado and Susan Muir and her husband Todd Cornett of Salem, Oregon; brother Max Edwin Crandall and his wife Ann, and Betty's twin brother Bob Crandall. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Sam Throm and Katie Paige Throm. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 8th, 2018 at Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229. The family alternatively suggests making a donation to your local Alzheimer's Association in Betty's name.
