Beverly Ford

Beverly Ann (Howard) Ford, 84, Aurora, Colorado died peacefully on April 21, 2023 after a full and rewarding life.

Beverly was born in York, Nebraska to Clair and Viola Howard on January 24, 1939.  Her mother preceded her in death on the same day.  Beverly was the oldest of three daughters after her father remarried Mildred Westwood Howard.   The family moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska then Casper, Wyoming before settling in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.  Beverly graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1955 and attended the University of Colorado Boulder where she received her BA in Nursing.  She also held a Masters Degree in Health Education from the University of Northern Colorado.

Beverly worked as a psychiatric nurse at St. Anthony’s hospital, and as a public health nurse before transitioning to school nursing where she worked until her 1995 retirement from Aurora Public Schools.  During her time as a school nurse, she worked at North and West Middle Schools and held a position as director of school nurses.  She also served a term as president of the Colorado School Nurses Association.

Beverly was an ebullient, intelligent, and determined advocate for humanity.  She made the world a better place.  Her life was filled with travel, laughter, family, friends, Disney, music, reading, writing and scrabble.  She worked for causes she believed in -- women’s healthcare, political campaigns and leadership roles in nursing, child advocacy and wellness.

Beverly is survived by her children Sherilyn Trainor (Lonnie), Cynthia Gehman, Mark Gehman and Christine Angelini (Anthony).  Grandchildren Kyle Morris (Becca), Nicholas Angelini and Christopher Angelini.  Sister Linda Roller (David) Nieces and Nephews Michael Mower, Tracy Burch (Joseph), Tricia Burkhardt (Glen) and Dayton Roller (Jen) she is preceded in death by her parents and sister Marlene Mower.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 17 at Parkview Congregational Church 12444 E. Parkview Dr. Aurora, Colorado 80011
