Billy Wayne Borton; Born, December 15, 1934 in Electra, Texas, passed quietly today at his home in Westminster, Colorado.
Bill is survived by his three daughters, Linda (Rick) Snyder, Lisa Starr, Nicole (Michael) Smith and son Scott Borton, by five grandchildren, Jessica (Tyson) Kiser, Cassie (Nick) Abseck, Jayme (Seth) Glause, Tyler Smith, Michaela Smith and three great-grandchildren, Mason Abseck, Kinlee Glause and Liam Kiser.
A long-time resident and business owner in Westminster, Bill owned Camp Stone Company for over 30 years until his retirement. He also was a long-time member of Elks Lodge 2227.
Bill grew up on the family farm in Electra, Texas with three younger brothers, Jim, Kenneth and Butch (Donald), who have proceeded him in death. In his youth Bill was an avid outdoorsman and competed in rodeo events such as bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling and bull riding.
Prior to purchasing Camp Stone, Bill worked as a firefighter with the Wichita Falls Texas Fire Department and as a brick mason in Texas and Colorado. Bill moved to Colorado in 1966 and purchased Camp Stone in 1973.
Bill was a kind and giving person and will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. To coin his phrase, ""It's time for me to play a Hank Snow.""
Please join the family on Friday, December 21st at 10AM for a Memorial Service at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel in Thornton at 9998 Grant Street. There will be a gathering following the service in the Reception Center.
