Charles “Dale” Flowers passed away at his home in LoneTree, Colorado on Wednesday, March 24th at the age of 81. Dale was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Katherine Ardery Flowers (deceased) and Cleo Jordan Flowers (deceased). After growing up in St. Joseph, Missouri, Dale graduated from St. Benedict’s in Atchison, Kansas. Dale moved to Colorado in the early 70’s and began a career managing retail centers with his first assignment being Buckingham Square Shopping Center. Dale met and married Karen and the two remained together for 48 years until his passing. Dale furthered his career by joining Perlmutter and Co., and went on to establish Northglenn, Southglenn and SouthWest Plaza Shopping Centers before his retirement.
Dale was an avid sailor and was able to enjoy numerous boating adventures all over the country with his family and friends. Dale enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, travelling, cooking, fine dining, and even the occasional cigar partnered with a fine scotch.
In addition to serving on the Board of Goodwill Industries for over 25 years, he was a very active member of Rotary for over 50 years and most recently with Littleton Rotary. Throughout his life, Dale’s generosity and his dedication to helping others led him to several disadvantaged areas to assist underprivileged families or children with basic necessities, clean water, wheel chairs, bicycles and whatever aid he could offer.
Dale is survived by his loving wife Karen and their three children and their spouses: Karla D. Flowers and Angelo Duncan; Janet and Dan Fiala; Jon and Caroline Flowers. He is survived by three beautiful grandchildren: Joey Fiala, Davis Fiala and Ryan Fiala. Dale is also survived by one sister, Kitty Seigfreid and her four children: Paul Seigfreid; Sally Harner; Anne Kovar and Jay Seigfreid and his cousin Elizabeth King and her family.
It was Dale’s wish to have funds donated to South Suburban Parks Foundation and/or Littleton Rotary, both of which were near and dear to him.
Funds raised in this go fund me will be used to place a memorial bench and or plant trees in the South Suburban Parks District to remember a man that gave us all so much.
For those of you that wish to donate to Littleton Rotary, you may make a donation in Dale’s name c/o Arty’s Food Bag program. The address is PO Box 143, Littleton, CO 80160
