Charles "Chuck" Collins

On September 11, 2022, Charles Vernon Collins (Chuck), 84, died in his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carron L. Collins (Dille); daughter, Catherine L. Rozmiarek (Lou); son, Richard V. Collins; daughter, Jeanne C. Elder (Russ); granddaughter, Katie Carroll Bowlick (Forrest) and two grandsons, Christopher M. Elder and Nathan C. Elder. Preceding Chuck in death were son, Christopher M. Collins and granddaughter, Jessica JoLinn Collins.

Chuck was born on April 18, 1938, in Crown Point, Indiana to Richard Collins and Martha Collins. He attended the United States Naval Academy where he graduated with the class of 1960 and became an officer in the United States Air Force. During his 23 years of faithfully serving our Country, Chuck earned his Master of Science degree in Space Science from the Air Force Institute of Technology, United States Air Force and a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from Washington State University.

Chuck retired as the Commander of the Aerospace Data Facility, Buckley National Guard Base, now Buckley Space Force Base. He settled in Aurora, Colorado where he held various positions in education and defense contracting. Chuck was an active member at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Interim Executive Pastor.

Services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church 10150 E Belleview Ave, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.
