Cia Perlman-Gere

Cia (Frances) Mary Perlman was born July, 5 1954 amidst the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. She embodied that energy in fighting for the rights of others including women's rights, stopping world hunger, and income equality. Her passion for helping others guided her into the psychology profession that she formally began, by attaining her Master's degree in counseling, at Idaho State University.

Post college, Cia explored her adventurous side by tracking bald eagles in the wilds of Alaska, taking white water rafting trips away from civilization for week-long journeys, and traveling extensively in Europe.

Once she returned, Cia began many diverse ways of helping people. She held positions in a match making company, bringing people together based on their profiles, then counseling older people in homes to adjust to the new lives they were living. Many of these elder clients attended her wedding to George Gere on 7/31/1994.

On October 16, 1995, Cia and George were blessed with the birth of their son Nicholas. From that point on, being a mother became the number one priority, that she accomplished brilliantly. Cia's passions moved her into creative pursuits, such as antiques collecting, interior design, and photography, which she shared via her company, Whatciasees. Cia was helping people look, live, and feel their best.

Cia's siblings include her sisters Lisa, and Grace, along with the youngest brother Bill. They all grew up knowing her as their older sister and the person in charge of them, while mom was working. They stayed close, attending the same college together for a while and then all working at the family talent management company. Even as each sibling married and moved apart with their spouses, they remained best friends.

Cia passed away on October 11, 2019, amidst a river of tears and an outpouring of love from the family and friends that she so cherished over the years. Cia was a dynamic and beautiful soul. She will be missed.
