Our dear Mother and Grandmother, Colleen (Coke) Ann Boyd (Donahe), 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Littleton, CO on Monday, October 17, 2022, surrounded by her family. She will be deeply missed by her six children, Larry Artzer of Fort Dodge IA, Tom Artzer of Big Spring TX, Ann Davis of Brighton CO, Lynn Artzer of Firestone CO, Janet (Mike) Watt of Littleton CO, Diane Mullins of Cheyenne WY; sister Marlys (James) Cruchelow of Des Moines IA. She is preceded in death by her son Dan Boyd; parents Harold and Irene Donahe; brothers Darwin (Son), Jim and Larry Donahe. Along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who loved her dearly, were also many nieces and nephews.
Mom was an amazing artist when it came to her sewing machine. She could take a yard of material and turn it into a three piece baby outfit complete with shirt, pants and booties. She would rarely use a pattern when making her masterpieces. She could look at something and study it for a few minutes and go home and make it. She made many of our clothes when we were young. She then turned that sewing compassion into a career making blue jeans at a manufacturing plant in Greeley CO. Eventually, she took her talent to a new level and started her own business (Coke's Upholstery) as an upholsterer. She upholstered everything from furniture, bar stools, and kitchen chairs to auto interiors. Moms talent didn't stop there. She made porcelain dolls complete with homemade clothes. She would crochet blankets and tons of beanie caps that would be donated to the homeless shelter in Denver.
Mother dedicated her life to her seven children, loving each one as if they were the only one. We will forever carry her memory in our hearts and cherish her tenacity and willingness to never give up. We are all very proud to have called her "MOM" and we appreciated all her love.
