Colonel Adams Richardson, Jr. 99, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 21, 2022. Colonel was born in 1923 in Chipley, FL and grew up in the Washington DC area. During WWII, Colonel served proudly as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a bombardier. Following his service Colonel attended the University of Oklahoma where he met his wife Dorothy Taylor who preceded him in death after 64 years of marriage. Colonel graduated from the University of Oklahoma earning his degree in geology. Following college, Colonel worked for Carter Oil Company in Purcell and Ardmore as a production geologist. Colonel later became a senior geologist for Superior Oil Company both in Oklahoma City and Tyler, TX. Wanting to get back to the geology of Oklahoma, Colonel accepted a position with Creslenn Oil Company to run the Oklahoma City office. Following his years with Creslenn, Colonel worked for Deminex US Oil, where he oversaw all US operations. Later he became an independent oil and gas consultant and remained active in the oil business until his death. Colonel was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist as well as Oklahoma City Geological Society, the Petroleum Club of OKC where he served as president, and the Rocky Mountain Petroleum Geologist Association. He also remained an active member of the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association. Together Colonel and Dorothy attended many alumni events at OU and could always been seen at OU football, basketball, and baseball games. Colonel's faith was a central part of his life. He served as an active member and volunteer at First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, First Baptist Church of Tyler, TX and First Baptist Church of Norman, OK. Colonel was a current member of Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, CO. As active as Colonel was professionally, his greatest source of pride came from his family. Colonel is survived by sister, Betty Enoch and husband Otey of Duncan, OK, his daughter and son-in-law Phyllis and Joe Eurton of Highlands Ranch, CO., his son and daughter-in-law David and Susie Richardson of Wimberley, TX., and grandchildren Amy and Dan Holton of Highlands Ranch, CO, Ash and Leslie Eurton of Godley, TX, Aaron Eurton of Denver, CO, Casey and Jeremy Guest of Norman, OK, and Tyler Richardson of Austin, TX. In addition, he was blessed with great-grandchildren, Christian and Morgan, Patrick, Adam, Meredith and Wes. Known as Grandad to both his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, he was blessed to have been a part of their lives attending celebrations, graduations, and sporting events. In addition, he had many nieces and nephews who fondly referred to him as Uncle Colonel. He led a faith based life and left this legacy for his family to follow. A celebration of Colonel's life will be held Friday, January 6th. After full military honors, Colonel's final resting place will be in the columbarium of Cherry Hills Community Church facing the mountains he loved to photograph.
