Edgar Slusher

Edgar "Eddie" Slusher was born June 14, 1953 to Elizabeth and Charles Slusher.

Eddie, age 68 died July 29, 2021 in the loving and supportive care of Becky Withers and Jerry Phanhpongsane a couple that devote their lives to helping those with severe mental and physical disabilities.

Eddie was born with Down’s Syndrome and was committed to Ridge Home for the disabled at age 3. He stayed there until early adulthood when he was introduced into the community. Since then he has been in the care of multiple people with his mother taking care of him on all weekends until her death in 2000. Becky and Jerry have taken care of Eddie for the last 6 years and taken him on all of their family vacations which he enjoyed very much. Eddie enjoyed watching Star Wars and Action Hero movies, eating and looking at department store catalogues.

He is survived by his sister Carole Rupp and her daughters Sandy Minkler and Nicky Blair, brother Bob Slusher and his wife Susie and their children Scott Slusher, Lisa McKercher and Ann Slusher. He has 3 great-nephews Matthew, Evan and Charles and 3 great-nieces Kelsey, Emily and Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Elizabeth and his brother-in-law Ed Rupp.

Funeral services will take place at Horan and McConaty Mortuary, 7577 West 80th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003 on Wednesday, August 4th at 10:00 AM with a reception there at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Viewing/Visitation is at 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the mortuary.
