Elva Kurnec

April 3, 1928 — July 2, 2019

Elva Kurnec (Boyd), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on July 2, 2019. She was 91.

Elva was born in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania on April 3, 1928, to John and Anna Boyd. She graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. She married Thomas Kurnec of Shamokin, Pennsylvania and moved to Manville, New Jersey to raise their family.

Elva, her husband Tom, and two daughters moved to Littleton Colorado in 1972. She worked for Johns Manville for 12 years in the Human Resources Department before retiring in 1984.

Elva is survived by her two daughters: Diane Raczkowski (Stan) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Debra Baker of Littleton, Colorado; three grandchildren: Dawn Gibbs (Spence) of Denver, Colorado, Tommy Cope of Littleton, Colorado, Shane Raczkowski of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and one great grandson, Grayson Jack Gibbs (1-year-old). She is also survived by one brother, Norman Boyd (Marlies), and nephew David Boyd of Manville, New Jersey.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 2, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Littleton, Colorado.

A private burial will take place on Monday, July 15, at 11:00 AM at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, Cabrini Cupboard food bank in Elva's memory.
