Emily Wedel

November 19, 1955 — December 25, 2021

Denver

Emily Wedel passed away December 25th, to become our Christmas Angel. She left this world from a sudden heart attack while surrounded by her loving family. Her daughter, Courtney Wedel; brother, Marty Wedel; and sister Jennifer Arnold, were all there to help her continue on her next journey.

Emily Ann Wedel is the daughter of Susan and Harold Wedel and the sister of Jennifer Arnold and Marty Wedel. She was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in the town of Laramie, Wyoming. She built her life in Denver, Colorado where she resided for the remainder of her life.

Emily was a force. She strongly believed that to educate ourselves was to empower ourselves. With a Bachelor degree in Education from the University of Wyoming, and a Master’s in Business from the University of Colorado Denver, she went on to become an entrepreneur and a mother. She started her own commercial cleaning business, Angel Touch Commercial Cleaning, and then pursued a Real Estate career with New Era Group at Your Castle Real Estate.

All the while, she raised her daughter, Courtney, and was such a strong Mother. Emily and Courtney were not only a dynamic Mother-Daughter duo, but best friends. They shared a passion for travel and were able to experience so many different parts of the world together. She was relatable, welcoming, and supportive, and many of Courtney’s friends viewed Emily as a friend and support system of their own. She was known for being an amazing Mother, Sister, Aunt, friend, and Roxi Ray Gwendolyn’s mama (her Golden Retriever who was always beside her).

Emily truly believed what goes around comes around – so she would always show you her biggest smile. She believed you should always put your best foot forward and lead with your heart. She had such a generous soul and wanted the best for everyone - she would never miss an opportunity to give back to the community.

In her free time, she would love to read a good book with her Book Club, spend time with her Pi Phi Alumni, fine-tune her golf swing, and discover the next best happy hour with her Sprint Girls. She held her friendships so close to her heart.

She was unapologetically herself, a trait no doubt inherited from her father, a man who was not afraid to live with gusto and verve. Emily always spoke her mind and heart no matter how difficult the situation. Emily’s laugh was uninhibited, and full of unabashed joy. She listened with enthusiasm and always was interested in understanding other’s life paths. Emily lived with passion- her life force and vitality were contagious.

We have lost an amazing soul, and gained a beautiful guardian. She would never want us to be upset for too long. She would simply count “one, two, three, GO!” and then proceed to smile her biggest smile possible to push out all of the negative energy and embrace the positive. So in honor of our Christmas Angel, Emily, “one, two, three, GO!” *smile*

A ceremony of life will be held in Colorado in the Spring of 2022. More information to follow."
