Born in Denver, she lived on W. 29 Avenue until they moved to her lifelong home on Teller Street at age 5.
Evelyn met Wayne in second grade when he began calling her ""my girl"". A year after graduating from Lakewood High, Wayne joined the Navy and they were married. They lived in San Francisco, California for a year while Wayne worked in the shipyards in Oakland. When Wayne was deployed to the Pacific on the USS Lindsey, Evelyn returned to Lakewood and worked at Bell Telephone as her mother had done. After the war, they bought the Teller Street home, lived there and tended to her mother. She and Wayne built a life and home together until his passing in 1996.
Evelyn was a wonderful mom and great homemaker, cooking, canning, sewing and taking care of their children Gary and Cynthia. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren .
