Frances Snyder

Frances Snyder passed away peacefully at age 95 on Friday January 18, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood CO. She was born on August 25, 1923 in Philadelphia PA to Mary Agnes (Noon) and Francis Benjamin Spencer. She graduated from Little Flower High School in 1941 and married Wesley Elmer Snyder on September 23, 1942. While her husband was away in the Pacific, she worked in the munitions factory while raising her first-born son Frank. After her husband returned they stayed in the Marine Corps and transferred to Quantico and then Colorado. They had 7 more children, two who died at birth. Once they moved to Colorado she worked at Sears as a general manager for twenty years before retiring.

Frances lived a long life filled with good friends and family. Her favorite pastimes were reading, watching Angela Lansbury movies, crocheting, and especially chatting with her children and grandchildren as they continued to grow and explore the world across the US and overseas. She had a mind that never forgot a detail and found joy in being part of her Bible Study Group, her Church and visiting friends and family when possible,

Frances is survived by her six children: Frank (Amy), Tripp (Pam), Carol, Jackie (Larry), Marilyn, Sharon (Den) and 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Family, friends and others are invited to a Celebration of Life at Horan & McConaty at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood to celebrate her life, reminisce, and enjoy each other, as she would have wanted. Viewing will be at 10 am, Service at 11 and lunch to follow on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
