George Lee Adams, 55, of Sedalia, CO, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021, at his residence after a brief illness.
George was born in southern Illinois to the late Mikelyn “Tootie” and George “Butch” Adams.
Early on, George moved to Romeoville, IL, where he worked for Material Service Corporation, as a mining operator. During this time, George met the love of his life, Ann Hathaway, and they married on July 8, 1989. George and Ann eventually moved to Michigan, where they spent the majority of their lives together and raised their daughters, Cori and Jessi. George worked for Midland Cogeneration Venture from 1991-2012 as a welder crew leader. He also volunteered for the Midland County Sheriff’s Department as a Reserve Deputy and Search & Rescue Diver. In 2012, life brought George and his family to Zionsville, IN. It was there that George worked for Martin Marietta as a mining production supervisor. It wasn’t long before George and Ann’s daughters grew up and started their own families, so George and Ann decided it was time to make one last move and build their forever home. This stage in life brought George to Colorado and he worked in maintenance for University of Colorado Boulder.
It’s easy to see that George was dedicated to his work, and prided himself on his work ethic and excellent attendance. He could fix anything. He also enjoyed the outdoors, whether fishing or hunting, he was in his element. Most important to him though, and his biggest joy, was his family. He and his wife were true soulmates, taking on every adventure life offered them together. More than anything in this world, he was most proud of his daughters, Cori and Jessi. They were the light in his life that guided him, and any time George had the opportunity to talk about his daughters, he lit up. George will be remembered for his kind, gentle spirit, and the honest man that he was. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by: his grandson, Logan.
Left to cherish his memory: his wife of 32 years, Ann Hathaway Adams; two daughters, Cori and her husband Jorge Crispin Arias; Jessi; one grandson, Jonathan; two siblings, Dean Adams and his wife Ann, and Stephanie Kazlauskas and her husband Scott; father-in-law, Gilbert Hathaway; four brothers-in-law, Jack, David, Thane and Steve Hathaway; and several nieces and nephews.
George’s family will have a casual gathering to celebrate his life, just the way he wanted, from 2 PM until 4 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Daniel’s Park in Centennial, CO. The family asks that you bring your favorite stories of George to share and honor his life.
