Gordon Michael “Mike” Christopher passed away on July 18, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born on September 9th, 1938 in Denver, Colorado to Gordon and Rita Christopher. He is the oldest of 3 boys. He is survived by his twin brothers, David and Daniel Christopher. He graduated from Regis Highschool and then attended Regis College for two years. He married his high school sweetheart Caroline (Graves) Christopher at Saint John’s Catholic Church in 1959.
Married for 63 years, he leaves behind his wife Caroline, and seven children; Rita, Michael, Michelle, Christine, John, Thomas, and Theresa. He is also survived by 121 grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren.
Mike had a long career serving 22 years as a law enforcement officer. For the city of Denver, he spent several years in the drug and narcotics unit as well as the Metro SWAT unit. For his dutiful and dedicated work, he was recognized as Sergeant for the Denver Police Department and as Under Sheriff for Juneau County in Wisconsin. He was a solid marksman!
In his personal time, Mike was a man of faith, family, and active hobbies. He was very devoted to the Roman Catholic faith. He adored spending time with his family and watching the grandchildren play sports. He loved to tease and tickle his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren have many fond summer memories of when he would take them for rides in his green tractor. It didn’t matter your age, Mike was a constant joker and could always make someone smile. A policeman with a green thumb, he would come home from work and water his garden still in his uniform! He was a sports enthusiast his whole life; when younger, he was an all-city basketball player for Regis High School with a powerful pitching arm and an avid, passionate golfer in his later years. He treasured Clint Eastwood and his movie productions and had a love for classic automobiles.
He will be deeply missed by his friends and family who have many precious, unforgettable memories of him.
