James Anthony

James Michael Anthony was born to his parents, Mary and Winfred Anthony, on August 5, 1938, at a hospital in Los Angeles County, California,  Jim lived on Catalina Island until his family moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 1946.

He graduated St. Mary’s Catholic high school in Phoenix Arizona in 1956. He then joined the Army, serving his country for 12 years in South Korea and Germany.  In 1960, he married Nancy Cowan. To this union a son, Michael and a daughter, Cynthia were born.  After leaving the service, he worked at Pacific Bell in telecommunications and at AT&T in corporate training.  During this time, he earned an A.S. degree in
Accounting and a B.S. degree in Computer Sciences.  He retired from AT&T in 1992.  Jim then began his next career as a community college professor in the field of computer sciences until he retired in 2006.
He and Nancy divorced in 1984 and he subsequently married Colleen Van Buren In 1990.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Mary Anthony, an aunt, Bernice Estes, and a niece, Andrea Eckhart; as well as several other uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife, Colleen, of Wheat Ridge, CO;  brother, John Anthony and wife, Laura of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Cynthia Ramirez and husband, Eli; son, Michael Anthony;  grandsons, Ryan Buchanan (Sara), great grandson, Landen Buchanan; Jeff Buchanan (Nicole), great grandchildren, Dane Lee Ann, and Wren Buchanan; and grandson Cody Buchanan, all living in the Livermore, CA area.  He also leaves behind 4 step daughters, 3 step granddaughters and 3 step grandsons.

Jim was active in his church, Trinity Lutheran in Loveland, CO and at his home, Mirasol Senior Living community in Loveland until failing health required long term care at Arbor View Skilled Nursing Facility in Arvada, CO.  Jim  passed away on October 26, 2022, at the age of 84.
