Janet Richardson

April 25, 1945 — March 17, 2022

Janet S. Richardson, of Littleton, Colorado and Naples, Florida, died March 17, 2022 at the age of 76. Jan was born and grew up in Flint, Michigan, where she turned cartwheels, played jacks, and watched Tigers games with her friends, two of whom became life-long friends. She attended Bentley High School in Flint, where she excelled academically, was a majorette, and met her childhood sweetheart and future husband Tom. They were married for 54 years. After time spent in East Lansing, Michigan and Cambridge, Massachusetts, Jan and Tom moved to Colorado in 1970. While Tom worked hard at a successful legal career, Jan devoted herself to raising their three children. She did so with incredible empathy, patience, love, and sacrifice. As her children grew, Jan volunteered at her children’s schools and worked at Continental Airlines, where she met several more life-long friends. Jan loved traveling, dining out, and watching ball games on tv. Most of all she loved spending time with Tom and her children, each of whom loved her more than anything in the world. We will forever remember her kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. We will especially remember her at Christmas time, when she made pasties with her mom and daughter, cookies with her grandchildren, and yorkshire pudding for everyone. Jan is survived by her daughter Kelly (Warren) Berg, sons Tom (Gabi) and David (Celia), grandchildren Noelle, Ryan and Emilie, and sisters-in-law Bev (Dave) Anthony and Janet Richardson. Jan was preceded in death by her husband Tom Richardson, her parents Paul and Helen Alcott, and her brother Bob. Jan’s children would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses, staff and doctors at Sky Ridge Medical Center, and to everyone at Porter Hospice.
