Katherine (Katie) M. Cordova passed away on January 6th, 2021 at the age of 70 after a battle with multiple strokes and various complications. In death she joins her son, Benito Quintana, father and mother, Ventura (Ben) and Beatrice Cordova, sisters, Wilma Lovato and Irma Wagner, and sister-in-law, Nila Cordova. She is survived by her son, Billy Quintana (Nahshon), brothers, John Cordova (Bertha) and Henry Cordova, sister, Rita Martinez (Ray), brother-in-law, George Wagner, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Katie was born on August 21st, 1950 in the village of Amalia in northern New Mexico. She attended Loretto Heights College of Nursing in Denver, CO and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1973. She was a dedicated and caring nurse in various hospitals and public schools in Taos and Albuquerque, New Mexico for over 3 decades.
Katie loved attending social events and being an active member of various community clubs like the Optimist Club. She also enjoyed playing various card games, board games, and singing karaoke with her friends and family.
A remembrance of life service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, January 16th, at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home in Aurora, CO. Seating is limited to 50 people, facial masks are required, and social distancing is encouraged. Friends and family also have the option to attend via the livestream. A Catholic rosary will follow at 4pm and all are welcome to stay and pray. The rosary will also be available via the livestream. A link to the livestream is below. A Catholic mass and burial will be held at a later date in Amalia, New Mexico.
