Kelsey Lynn Jacobs

4/27/1990 – 8/28/2022

Age 32

Kelsey was born at Saint Josephs Hospital in Denver and resided her entire life in Aurora Colorado. She graduated from Eagle Crest High School in 2009.

From a young age Kelsey loved reading and was always carrying books around with her. She loved playing Dungeons and Dragons with her boyfriend Justin on the weekends. She was a member of the Littleton Gem and Mineral Club along with her mother. She spent many weekends during the summer in the mountains digging up gemstones and other rocks. Her favorite trips were looking for topaz and pyrite cubes. She also had an interest in ghost stories and investigations but had a hard time finding anyone brave enough to go with her. She was able to talk her brother into going twice in Kentucky. On the last trip with him they were quickly chased out of the building by bats. Kelsey was an avid fan of the Colorado Avalanche Hockey team and went to many games with her family. She and her brother were sprayed with silly string by the mascot during the valentines’ games a few years ago. She loved her dogs Sheba the German Shepherd whom she lived with for almost fourteen years and the new puppy Mackenzie who she playfully called little butt.

Kelsey was looking forward to the future and was making plans to go back to college. We will never forget the trip we took camping at Yellowstone and how excited she got when she saw a bear. She was notoriously grumpy in the morning but all smiles by the afternoon. She was a generous person who was constantly showering her parents and friends with gifts.

Kelsey worked at King Soopers and started off in the deli moving eventually to the cheese shop. On her first day on the job, she sliced her hand on the meat slicer and had to go to the emergency room. After that she was so afraid, she would lose her job but instead it earned her the nickname Slice which she was known as from then on. She was loved by many of her friends at work.

Kelsey passed peacefully in her sleep at her home of twenty-eight years. She was surrounded by her boyfriend Justin and her loving dog Sheba. She left behind her mother Tammy Jacobs, her father Craig Jacobs and her brother Justin Jacobs. She will also be missed by her grandparents, Larry and Janet Berry of Kentucky and Magdalene Bruhn of Texas and all her many uncles, aunts and cousins.
