Krystine Bybee

February 1, 1992 — December 22, 2021

The usual obituary just didn’t seem right for Krystine. She accomplished so much in her 29 years as a daughter, sister, and best friend to so many.

*Krystine was born in San Diego, CA on February 1, 1992.
*She loved cooking and spent hours in the kitchen developing her own signature dishes. When asked ‘what did you put in this’ she would laugh and say a little of this and a little of that – no dish was made the same twice.
*She designed and created greeting cards for family and friends, and all were filled with love and sparkling glitter that would go everywhere when opened.
*She played trivia games with gusto and if she didn’t know the answer the first time, she would know it next time she played.
*Christmas lights decorated her room and were lit year-round – they made her happy.
*Her taste in music covered a wide spectrum from Disney songs to Christmas carols to screamo, and she knew the words to every song she ever heard.
*She would laugh during horror movies like IT, shed a tear at Hallmark happy endings, sing Disney songs (during the movie), and watch Waterworld (her favorite movie) over and over and over.

*She had a compassionate spirit and would go out of her way to help anyone. Grocery shopping was an adventure and took at least 20 extra minutes because she would say hi and give hugs to everyone who worked there, and she would help the little old gentleman who didn’t know which bottle of cooking oil to buy.
*Krystine was non-judgmental and had the ability to befriend anyone she met. She came home after work and gathered up a sleeping bag, gloves, a hat, food and water to take back to a homeless man living on a bench across the street from where she worked. She knew him by name and would say, “Hi” and check on him when she left work.
*Helping others and making others happy was therapy for Krystine; helping others helped her. She said when you show someone ‘you matter to me,’ you get back what you give.

During her stay in the hospital Krystine gave compliments to all those who cared for her every day. The dietician who delivered food had beautiful eyelashes, praising the phlebotomist on his ability to draw blood with little pain to her, admiring the doctor’s beautiful face masks, always thanking the people who cleaned her room quietly so she could sleep, undoubtedly every nurse who left Krystine’s room would be smiling after a compliment about their cute hair style or eyeglasses. Even on her worst days, she dug deep and made someone smile.

We will miss Krystine more than words can say. A dear friend said, "Krystine is now a bright star in the sky. She was full of goodness, energy and light." So, keep looking for that star and thank her for being part of your life.

Krystine is survived by her Mom, Kathleen; Brother, Tyler; Grandparents: Norman and Darlene Balderson, many Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins (Bybee, Balderson, and Roelfs). She is preceded in death by her Father, Robert (Bob) and infant Brother, Ryan; Grandmother, Betty Bybee, and Great Uncle and Aunt Alvin and Dorothy Schewe.
