Linda Tanner

Linda D. Tanner, age 80, passed away in her home on Wednesday December 22, 2021.

Born in Hershey, Pennsylvania on May 13, 1941 to Luigi and Marianna Macchioni. Linda spent her younger years enjoying the splendor of the Pennsylvania countryside and playing with her younger brother Joe. As she grew into adulthood, she pursued her passion for teaching; acquiring her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Lockhaven State College (PA), and later completing her master’s degree. Linda began teaching at Hummelstown Elementary (PA) for several years until embarking on an overseas opportunity with the Department of Defense. It was at this time that she met the love of her life, Payton F. Tanner, a young airman with the U.S. Airforce. The two were soon married and blessed with daughter Catherine. After traveling throughout Europe and The United States for Payton’s Military Service, the young family finally settled down in Aurora, Colorado. Linda continued her teaching at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in Denver until she retired. Linda enjoyed her retirement by spending time and playing games with friends and loved ones.

Linda is survived by daughter Catherine Tanner (Timothy Elkins); Grandchildren Krista Longmore VanRoekel (Joseph VanRoekel), Paul Longmore (Elizabeth Longmore), Adam Longmore (Zoie Lujan); Great Grandchildren; Timothy Longmore Jr., Aries Longmore, Madilyn Van Roekel, Alivia Van Roekel; Siblings; Joseph Macchioni (Sandy Macchioni); Nieces and Nephews; Pamela Fry (Mark Fry), Joseph Macchioni Jr. (Deborah Macchioni),and  Louis Macchioni (Mary Macchioni). Linda is preceded in death by husband Payton Tanner Jr. and grandson Timothy Longmore Sr.
