Lloyd Chavez, 90, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on February 5, 2021. He was born to Antonio Chavez and Elena Autobee in Boone, Colorado on March 11, 1930.
Lloyd went on to earn an Associate of Arts degree. He joined the US Army and retired as a Sergeant E6. Lloyd also went on to retire from the US Postal Service, Department of Motor Vehicles and the Cherry Creek State Park.
He was a member of Retired Enlisted Association and the Knight of Columbus.
Lloyd earned numerous awards including the Purple Heart Recipient; Good Conduct Medal, 3rd award; National Defense Service Medal with 1 bronze service star; Korean Service Medal with 1 bronze service star; Combat Infantryman Badge 1st award; United Nations Service Medal; Glider Badge; Parachutist Badge.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Piña and daughter, Patricia Williamson, and survived by his children, Helen Chavez-Castro (Frank), Lloyd Jr. (Cynthia) Chavez, Lorretta Chavez, Silvana Ruscin (Mark), Bill (Wendy) Chavez, MonaLisa Chavez, Veronica Chavez.

Please join the family for a visitation on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 5-7pm and Rosary at 7pm at the Horan & McConaty Chapel located at 1091 S. Colorado Boulevard, Denver, CO 80246. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 16th at 10am at Risen Christ Catholic Church located at 3060 South Monaco Parkway, Denver, CO 80222.
A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held at the Knights of Columbus located at 1555 Grant Street, Denver, CO 80203 following the funeral mass.
Memorial contributions are welcome in Lloyd's name to the charity of your choice.
