Marion Presson

Marion Presson, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, passed away on May 28, 2017 at age 88 in Aurora, Colorado. She was born on July 6, 1928 in Bronx, New York, to Winifred (Farrell) and Alexander Walker. She moved to Lithia Springs, Georgia in 1980 where she had resided for the past 37 years before moving to Colorado to live with her family in March of 2017. A devoted mother and wife, Marion worked as secretary and bookkeeper for her church for many years prior to her retirement. Her love of singing and beautiful voice led her to give much of her time to her church as a member of the choir and cantor for many years. Marion was an avid quilter and seamstress and spent most of her years in retirement crafting beautiful quilts to share with friends she made as a member of several quilting guilds. Marion is survived by her sister Patricia Slaughter of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; children Gregg and Holly Presson (Duncan) of Aurora, Colorado; daughter Deidre Summers of St. Francisville, Louisiana; grandchildren Ryan Presson and Madison Presson of Aurora, Colorado; Lisa Miller (Summers) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Lesley Lanehart (Summers) and Michael Summers of St. Francisville, Louisiana; and 6 great grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by her husband Walter G. ""Bud"" Presson Sr.; first husband George Bankston; her mother and father Winifred and Alexander Walker; and sisters Florence Grant and Helen Klimowich. Services will be held at Horan & McConaty funeral home in Aurora, Colorado. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
