Michael L. Weiss, age 62, of Northglenn, Colorado, lost a long and courageous battle with leukemia on March 7th, 2021 in the arms of his family.
Mike was born on March 22, 1958 in Denver, CO to Dr. Robert and Donna Weiss and raised in Arvada, Colorado. Mike married Karlene “Joy” Weiss on February 6, 1988. They just celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary. Mike and Joy have two wonderful children, Zach and Ali, whom he loved; his family was his world.
Mike loved to go golfing any chance that he could get & loved watching his tv shows. Mike never once saw a bad movie or ate a bad meal. Mike was a hopeless romantic who would recite every word to the movie, Notting Hill. He loved an afternoon nap while watching golf on the weekends and would wake up right around the last few holes to see the winner. He loved going on family vacations.
Mike loved coaching and watching Zach play baseball and golf and he loved cheering on Ali while she was playing soccer and sitting in her chair while she gave him a haircut. He encouraged Joy to pursue many different careers. Mike told the best stories, had the biggest smile and had a contagious laugh. He always had a positive attitude about life; even when he was diagnosed, he never lost that positive attitude.
Mike was a very hard and skilled worker, who took great pride in his work. He worked as the Vice President of Land Development for Boulder Creek Brands in Louisville, CO. He was very proud of the projects he oversaw and would often ask Joy, Zach or Ali to drive him around to take a look at them and see how they were progressing. He loved playing around in the dirt and enjoyed what he did.
Mike is survived by his wife Joy, son Zach, daughter Ali, mother Donna Weiss, sister Camille (John) Palmeri, twin-sister Michelle McCallum, mother-in-law Pricilla Johnson, sister-in-law Kimberly (Dennis) Hodgson, sister-in-law Tamara Johnson, brother-in-law Leroy Johnson Jr. (Sandra).
