Pat Wilcox, age 75, passed away peacefully with Pete, her beloved husband of 53 years at her side. She leaves behind three children, Eric Wilcox of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Wendy Armbruster of Coconut Creek, Florida and Tracy Kosloff of Englewood, Colorado. Pat is also survived by five grandchildren, and many friends and extended family who will remember her kindness, faith, and beautiful spirit. A life well lived is a precious gift.
Pat was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was big sister to Rosemary and John. When she was 11 her family moved to Birmingham, Michigan where she graduated from Birmingham Seaholm High School. She went on to the University of Michigan, where she made many friends in the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She met Pete Wilcox in January of her junior year. That summer they both joined the U of M sailing club where they fell in love.
Pat and Pete were married on April 28, 1967. She stayed home when the three children were young and was involved in many activities including bowling and tennis leagues, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, and time with friends in the “Gourmet Group”. She and the family enjoyed annual summer vacations to Camp Michigania. When the kids were older, Pat went back to work as a medical technologist, finishing her career at the University of Michigan Hospital.
Pat was an avid sports fan for Michigan football and hockey and any sports her children and grandchildren were involved in. She had a wardrobe of purple and white to cheer on Ann Arbor Pioneer High School and maize and blue for the Michigan Wolverines. After retirement she took up quilting. Pat was a devout Catholic who enjoyed volunteering at the church bookstore and providing service to others in the community.
Pat and Pete moved to Colorado in 2014 and became members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Pat was laid to rest in the Horan and McConaty Memorial Garden in Centennial, CO to the sounds of bagpipes, surrounded by flowers and butterflies on May 30, 2020.
