Randall Laurence Smith, 72, of Arvada passed away on October 12, 2021 at his home. Born on November 3, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York he was the son of Randall W. and Doric (Cruger) Smith.
Randall worked as a police officer in Denver for over 30 years, much of that time was spent as a field training officer. He was given the nickname “Tracker” for his ability to track and find the suspects he was looking for. He retired with the rank of corporal in 2004.
He enjoyed paleontology, military history, and shooting.
He will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and willingness to help those around him.
Randall is survived by his girlfriend Stephanie Dinovo, his son Randall Brian Smith and his wife Alaina Rose (McIntier) Smith, his daughter Valerie Jeanne Jaecksch and her husband Eric Doyle Knight, and his sister Laurie (Smith) Edvardsson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Jessica Marie Smith.
