Lakewood

Reed Little Evans, son of the late Charles Orrin Evans and Elsie Little Evans Smith was born April 19th, 1950 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He grew up in Wheat Ridge with his four other siblings Chloe, John, Bonnie, and Celia. After his father’s death, his mother remarried Rawlen Smith and he gained two additional siblings; Brent and Michelle. He was a graduate of Wheat Ridge High School in 1968. After high school he attended Denver University and majored in Business Administration and learned the trade of printing. It was during his early printing career that he met the love of his life Kathy in 1976. They were united in Holy Matrimony July 21st, 1978. The following year in 1979 they were blessed with their one daughter, Marlena.

Reed was a hard-working, outgoing man who could strike up a conversation with anyone and often lit up a room with his smile and witty humor. He loved his family fiercely and enjoyed traveling with Kathy and their close friends. In his later years, he renewed his Faith in God and became a very active member of Grace Covenant Church in Lakewood. Throughout his cancer journey, he made a point to share his Faith by handing out over 365 wooden crosses; he made many new friendships along the way. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side on Thursday September 9th, 2021 at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Elsie, his step-father Rawlen, and his older brother John.

His beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of his wife Kathy of Lakewood, Colorado, his daughter Marlena and son-in-law Brian of Bennett, Colorado and his three grand-children Tyler, Garrett and Reagan Hill of Bennett, Colorado.
