Richard Sowers

Richard E. Sowers of Littleton, Colorado passed away on December 21, 2021 at the age of 69 and will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and brother. Richard is survived by his son Erik Sowers, his daughter Laura Manzik (Sowers) and her husband Ryan Manzik, his two beautiful grandchildren - Ruby and Rocco Manzik, his brother Lee Sowers and sister Carolyn Sowers.  Richard is preceded in death by his father Robert Sowers, his mother Martha Mullins and step-father Charlie Mullins, and his brother Ron Sowers.

Richard “Rich” graduated with his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from CU Denver and dedicated over 40 years to the field of electrical engineering.  He worked at several locations across the country with a primary focus on nuclear power. Towards the end of his career, he shifted focus and worked to make an impact in the renewable energy industry through wind power.  Richard was highly respected in his profession. Richard enjoyed reading, playing golf and anything to do with soccer.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado.  Interment will immediately follow at Olinger Highland,  10201 North Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado.  A time of fellowship and greeting will follow at a reception at Horan & McConaty Reception Center, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado.
