Roland Martinez

Roland R Martinez, age 86 died in Thornton Colorado on August 6th, 2020 of natural causes.

Born June 23, 1936 in Alamosa Colorado, he was one of 13 children. He traveled the world while in the military serving as a photographer. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a beautician and also in photography where he met his wife Jacqueline Hawthorn. They lived in Golden Colorado and were married for forty years.

Roland was considered by many to be an exceptional artist. He was an accomplished oil painter and had many of his paintings and wood carvings showcased in local art galleries.

Roland is survived by his five children Rebecca Bates of Nebraska, Michelle Acker of Golden Colorado, Preston Martinez of Thornton Colorado, Andrew Martinez of Westminster Colorado, and Jeffrey Naslund. Roland is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Roland was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline and son Justin.
