Rosalie Durante

Rosalie Ann Durante (Durando), on October 10, 2021 joyously reached out and took the hand of her Precious Baby Jesus, and was lead home to eternal paradise.

Rosalie passed beautifully and peacefully at home in the loving arms of her devoted daughter Angel, so blessed that the Lord mercifully and graciously granted them this final moment together.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parent’s Joe Durando and Maria Durando (Malara), her sisters Rose Marie and Barbara Joe, and her brother in-law Martin Schwindt.

Rosalie was an incredibly loving, devoted and protective Mother to her daughter and “her Angel”, Angela Marie Durante.

Rosalie was a proud and devoted Auntie to Katherine Shade (Allen), Martin (Bud) Schwindt, Sam Schwindt, Dianna Schwindt, and her three great nieces, Amber Grigsby, Sarah Rosalie Shade and Samantha Rose Schwindt.

Rosalie’s smile could light up the world.  She had a true love for people, and saw directly into their heart and soul.   She could feel their pain, and always went out of her way to show kindness, and compassion, taking the time to offer an inspirational word of encouragement to bring them hope through her testaments of God’s blessings, and miracles in her life.

Rosalie was a professional Jazz singer for 47 years.  Throughout her career she touched many people with her soulful voice, showmanship and fantastic sense of humor.

Her most valued job on this earth, and the joy of her life was being a Mother.  Mama would tell me often throughout our incredibly blessed and happy life together, “You are my most treasured gift sent by God.”   Through her steadfast and unwavering Catholic faith and devotion to our Lord, she taught me to be moral, loving, respectful, kind, compassionate, and loyal amongst many other things.  She taught me to be still, and listen to the Lord who was guiding me.  Mama was a shining example of God’s love, mercy, and grace.

Mama is survived by numerous family and friends.  Although she will be missed terribly, and has taken a part of each one of our hearts with her, we must not grieve as if there is no hope.  Our hearts should be joyous knowing she has conquered suffering and death, has been made brand new, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

“Mama I miss the days when you were near to guide me, Mama those happy days when you were here beside me.” “Safe in the glow of your love sent from the heavens above, nothing can ever replace the warmth of your tender embrace.”

Visitation will be held Monday, October 18, 2021, 3pm-5pm followed immediately by prayer service at 5pm. Both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood. Funeral Mass Tuesday, October 19, 2021, 11am, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 3549 Navajo Street, Denver with burial following at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
