Rudy Franklin Manzanares, of Littleton, Colorado was born on November 25th 1963 and entered into eternal rest on Sunday September 20th 2020. Rudy was a well-respected husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, friend and public servant. He served as a Denver Sheriff for seven years, and joined the Denver Police Department in June 2004.
In truth, there are no words to properly encapsulate and honor the legacy Rudy leaves behind. However, as described by the Denver Chief of Police “Rudy’s character and values as a man of empathy, understanding, and deep concern for the lives of others. Rudy served the members of our community with courtesy, dignity, and respect. He always had a kind word or smile to share to make someone’s day just a little brighter.”
Rudy joins his deceased father Franklin William Manzanares who passed on January 6th 2020. He is survived by his wife Ranae Manzanares, three daughters: Lisa Salazar (husband: Kevin), granddaughter Olivia Salazar, Sarah Manzanares (Alex Galvez), Paula Manzanares; three stepdaughters: Marissa Trujillo (Jake Acosta), Megan Trujillo (Josh Jaramillo), Mariah Trujillo (Lonnie Vigil). His loving aunt Barbara Montoya, two brothers: Kenny Manzanares (Diane), Donnie Manzanares (nephew Kenny), Godson Joey, Goddaughter Vanna, along with many other nieces, nephews, extended family, including his Sheriff and Police family.
