Shirley Green

Shirley K. Green passed away on August 3, 2020 in Centennial, Colorado.  She was 95.

She was born Shirley Marie Kemper on April 7, 1925 in Denver, Colorado to Alfred Barton Kemper and Marie M. Kemper.  She grew up in the Denver area and attended Central Presbyterian Church where she made numerous lifelong friends for which she was truly thankful.

She attended North High School where she was Head Girl her senior year.  She attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where she was voted Miss Colorado by the student body and became a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.

She married Thomas Burr Green on August 23, 1946 in Denver.  They were very happily married until his death in 2003.  She spent her life devoted to her family and friends.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her brother Theodore E. Kimpel, nieces Venita Hedberg and Dolly Davis, and grand-nephew Dean Kimpel.  She is survived by her children Terry, Kathy and Gary, her grandchildren John, Matthew and Shelby, nephew Ted Kimpel and grand-nieces and nephews.

Due to the corona virus, a private family service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her behalf to the Anchor Center for Blind Children or the Salvation Army.
