Terry Lynn Findley

June 29, 1959 – November 6, 2020

On Friday, November 6, 2020, Terry Lynn Findley, loving husband and father, passed away at his home at age 61.

Terry was born June 29, 1959 in Boulder, CO to Bernie and Wanda (Fuqua) Findley.  He graduated from Iver C. Ranum High School in 1977, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.  Terry served his country for 5 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant.  After receiving his Honorable Discharge from the USMC in 1982, Terry returned home and began working for the Denver Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a Special Events Supervisor.  After 5 years with Coca-Cola, Terry joined the Aurora Fire Department.  He served the citizens of Aurora for 25 years, first as a Firefighter, then as a Paramedic and Engineer, before retiring in 2012.

In 1983, Terry married Cindy Marie Ruhter. They raised two children, Danielle Lynn and Jonathan Lee, together in Aurora, CO until Cindy’s passing in 2004.  In 2014, he married Sherri Lynn Bischoff, and they made their home in Larkspur, CO.

Terry enjoyed staying busy- he was not one to sit around and twiddle his thumbs! He had many hobbies and interests, including woodworking, car repairs, traveling (Hawaii, California, Australia and Germany were some of his favorite trips) and participating in Aurora Fire Fighters Local 1290 events.  Terry also had a variety of side-jobs throughout the years, including his own sprinkler system blow-out and repair business, de-icing airplanes at DIA, repairing mannequins for the Fire Science department at the Community College of Aurora, and proctoring for the Colorado Bar Exam.

Terry is survived by his wife, Sherri, his children, Danielle (Chris) Stroppel and Jonathan Findley, and numerous other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy, his parents, Bernie and Wanda, his sister, Karen Nelson, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He is remembered for his kind blue eyes, his laugh, his willingness to lend a hand to whomever needed it, and his love for his family and the Lord.

Visitation will be held at Horan and McConaty – Southeast Denver/Aurora on Sunday, November 22nd from 4pm-6pm.  A private burial will be held Monday, November 23rd at Fort Logan National Cemetery.  A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
