Thelma Dowling

August 16, 1936 — October 15, 2018

Thelma Dowling, a longtime resident of the Denver area, died Monday the 15th of October 2018 at the Manor on Marston Lake.
Thelma had a vibrant love for life and her family. Thelma married Richard Dowling on July 13, 1957. They lived and raised their family in the Denver area for over 20 years before moving to Lakewood in 1985. They enjoyed attending Broncos games and Thelma especially loved going to see the Rockies (her all-time favorite player was LARRY WALKER). She loved socializing, enjoyed going to the movies and in her younger years, on adventures with their group of friends. Her smile and laughter could light up a room. She especially loved spending time with her two grandchildren, always ready to cause mischief with those two! Thelma was also a huge supporter and advocate for her children and grandchildren, if they were involved in sports, any school events, Thelma wanted to be present to cheer them on.
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Dowling, and her sister Betty Augustine. She is survived by her three sons, Rick, Jerry (& Lisa) and Scott (& Kristin), as well as two grandchildren, Aliah and Colton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado (www.alz.org/co).
There will be a celebration of life held at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227 with a reception to follow at the Lakewood Elk's Lodge, 1455 Newland St., Lakewood, CO 80214 from 12-3pm.
