Thomas J Eurich, Jr born August 15, 1943 in Pueblo, CO.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Eurich and Mary (Cirbo) Eurich. Survived by his wife Lucrecia (Melchor) Eurich. Tom and Lucrecia have 2 girls: Joan Eurich and Mary Jean Minch (Darian Minch). Also, 2 granddaughters’ Jovian Minch (age 17) and Jaci Minch (age 12). Also survived by his brother Darrell Eurich.
Tom attended Pueblo Catholic High and graduated in 1961. He attended Southern Colorado State College and graduated with a degree in accounting in 1964. Following graduation, he worked a short time for NBC in California and then became a Peace Corp Volunteer in the Philippines where he met his wife, Lucrecia. Following their marriage, they moved to Denver where Tom worked for the City and County of Denver as an Accountant. In that position he managed purchases for materials for building Denver International Airport.
Following his retirement, he became an Ambassador at DIA and was one of the longest volunteers there. He and Lucrecia were active in and are Life Time members of FACC. They did many enjoyable things with this club including teaching Filipino dances, native boat races at Sloan’s Lake, planning club activities and held offices in the club.
Tom and Lucrecia have also been active members of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Tom was often an altar server for funerals, he was a Eucharistic Minister, Usher and taught classes for returning Catholics and Bible Studies.
Tom enjoyed hiking and went weekly with a group and hiked many trails around Colorado. He also hiked with his daughter Joan on week long trips through Utah's Canyonlands and did a canoe trip down the Green River to where it flows into the Colorado River. He was an avid tennis player in his earlier years.
Tom prided himself in being detailed and meticulous.
Tom was diagnosed with cancer 11 years ago but following treatment the cancer went into remission. The cancer returned 4 years ago and was very aggressive. Tom underwent a successful Stem Cell Transplant through Colorado Blood Cancer Institute. He succumbed to complications following the transplant although he was cancer free.
Tom had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking with people. His nurses and doctor’s all enjoyed his humor, admired his strong will to live and respected his strong religious convictions.
