A. George Snyder

February 20, 1936 — June 27, 2020

We are sad to announce the passing of A. George Snyder.

He was born to Frank and Anna Duffy Snyder in Germantown PA and was the second youngest of six children (Suzanna Marie ""Peg"" Mitchell, Dorothy F. O'Brien, William ""Bill"" R. Snyder, Roger D. Snyder and is survived by his older brother, Frank J. Snyder Jr.).

The family moved to Denver in 1948 and George attended Denver Public Schools including East High School, and then CU Boulder.

He served in the Army Reserves from 1958 until 1965 and married Mary Gaul (Denver) in 1962.

Professionally George was the C.F.O for Digby Golden Arrow Truck Lines/Navajo Express of Denver until his retirement.

He is survived by Mary Snyder McGuire and their children, son Frank J. Snyder and his wife Victoria (Charlotte N.C), daughter Linda Snyder McGuire (Denver CO), son Christopher Snyder and his wife Diana (Clayton CA), daughter Catherine ""Kate"" Snyder Heelan and her husband Brennan (Kearney NE), and daughter- in- law Kerrie Garrou (Abingdon VA) . He is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Andrew, Rachel, Regis, Rory, Zoe, Zander, Ronan, Ryan, Cassie, Kevin, Reagan, Archer, Tatum and two great grandchildren Saige and Keller.

His children will always remember him for his love of skiing and the time spent in the Rocky Mountains. George wasn't one to spend time on an airplane and never turned down a road trip anywhere in the country. You can be sure he took the long scenic route to Heaven as well. A private family gathering is planned in his memory.
