Aaron Keith Asquith, age 43, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Friday, February 8th, 2019. Aaron was born in Illinois to John and Judy (Weeber) Asquith, where he lived until he was 12 years old. The family then moved to Cheyenne, WY where he graduated from Central High School in 1993. It was here that he met his high school sweetheart, Melanie Mullen. Together, they attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and received undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering. Aaron and Melanie were married in 1995 and have two sons, Isaac and Brody. Following graduation, Aaron worked for McLaughlin Water Engineers/Merrick & Co. as a water resources design engineer. In 2016, he decided to begin a new challenge and accepted the position of City Engineer for Lafayette, Colorado.
Aaron had many loves. He played basketball and soccer in high school and continued to play recreationally even after his diagnosis. Aaron also loved to play golf. He traveled to many places around the country, and even to Scotland, with his friends to experience new courses.
Aaron's greatest love was the family he built with his wife and sons. He enjoyed spending every moment with them sharing his love for sports, video games and cars. The family moved to Arvada in 2009, where he coached both boys in soccer and basketball for many years. When the boys were too old for him to continue coaching, he was an unrelenting supporter at every game. His sharp sense of humor kept his family and all those who knew him laughing.
Aaron is survived by his parents; his wife Melanie; his sons, Isaac and Brody; his sisters, Leah Asquith and Tabitha (Kevin) Lane; his brothers Adam and Andrew Asquith and six nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on February 16th, 2019 at the Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado 80003.
