Abel J. Chacon

Abel J. Chacon, 90, of Lakewood, CO passed away on October 10, 2017. He was a decorated veteran of WWII stationed in the Philippines. He was a professional carpenter for over 40 years. He was a builder of custom homes, restaurants, condos in major ski resorts and major hospitals in Denver. He built the family home in Lakewood, CO in 1961 when Lakewood was a rural area. His interests were working in the yard, watching his westerns and attending his son and three grandsons' sports activities. He was an avid sports fan of all Colorado sports teams and he also rooted for Oregon State University where one of his grandsons attended. He was also a lover of animals. He is survived by his wife, Marie D. Chacon, nee Trejo, of Lakewood, CO; his daughter, Lorelei, nee Wilemon, Welsch of Lakewood, CO; his son Alan Abel Chacon and wife Sherri, nee Kirk, Chacon of Lakewood, CO; three grandsons, Shaun Chacon, Josh Wilemon and Justin Kirk; four great-grandchildren, Kira, Demitrius, Kaden and Jaxon. Private service for the immediate family to be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery. There is no formal reception. The family welcomes friends and family to stop by their home Thursday, October 19, 2017 through Sunday October 22, 2017, during the afternoon to leave condolences.
